Who said old age shouldn't be fun? At NOAH we believe happy healthy people live longer. In this spirit, we create opportunities for socials and outings for the elderly to have fun with their peers.
The craft club, garden club and the exercise group keep Woodstock residents connected and stimulated.
The social clubs in Khayelitsha are a meeting place within walking distance for NOAH residents and pensioners in the community. They provide companionship, support, a sharing of ideas, the learning of something new and an opportunity to get involved in hobbies.
- Our social clubs in Khayelitsha are subsidised but members pay a R10 joining fee (annually) and R20 monthly towards a hot meal which we provide.
- 120 people attend our social clubs in Khayelitsha.
- 48 people attend our groups and clubs in Woodstock.
Our resident occupational therapist helps our residents remain emotionally balanced and provides anchor support to our Khayelitsha social clubs co-ordinator.
Keep our elderly happy by sponsoring an outing or hosting a tea party. |
