The Trestle Table started in 2009 selling secondhand items to the public. It has grown into a successful income generator, for the social pensioners who run it and for NOAH as an organisation.
Donated clothing, furniture, bric ‘n brac, household items, linen and towels are sold to the community from the semi-enclosed stoep of one of our community houses in Woodstock. All donations are received into the NOAH Store where they are recorded, priced and sent to the shop for sale.
The shopkeepers each earn 10% of the profit and the balance is used to covers operational costs.
NOAH is in the process of buying the adjacent cornershop which will enable us to upscale the operation, employ more social pensioners and contribute further to NOAH’s sustainability.
